College Football Lust

I’ve been a student at Emory for 8 (going on 9!) years now. In that time, I’ve led dozens tours and talked to hundreds of prospective students. I’ve always been pretty honest with them about my likes and dislikes. I have to say that the only two things about Emory that just don’t sit so well with me are that (1) we’re so far from the ocean and (2) we don’t have a football team and all of the beautiful things that go along with that.

I’ve always kind of regretted not having a college football team to cheer for. For a while there, I was rooting for this kid’s team (Go Blue! Also, if you read this blog, I miss your big melon-shaped head), but that waned. My b is a VT grad and a huge Hokie football fan (Ok, fine, that first pic isn’t actually him but I totally wish it were).  We’re going to go up to Blacksburg for a game in October and I couldn’t be more pumped about it. There’s something really invigorating about thousands of people all in the same place, all really enthusiastic about the same thing. It gets your blood pumping, it makes you feel connected to people. I can’t wait to experience my first real-life college football game. I think I’m going to have to stock up on some VT gear if I’m going to hold my own. Anyone know where I can get one of these outfits?
